Why ETC Exists

The hobby changed. So we aimed to change the hobby.

The hobby today tells you to choose: rip packs or buy singles.

ETC is the platform where you can do both, and find new kinds of value while you're at it.

Boxes cost more. The cards worth chasing are harder to find.

Every year, product tiers keep multiplying, price points keep climbing, and the packs that actually matter keep moving further out of reach.

Breaking was supposed to be the answer.

Split a box with other people, bring the cost down. But most breaks are priced so the breaker comes out ahead no matter what gets pulled. The thrill of the rip keeps people coming back, but the math is working against them every time they buy in.

The conventional wisdom? Stop ripping.

Ask around and you'll hear the same thing: just buy singles. And honestly, in today's landscape, that's solid advice. But it's only half of the right answer. You get control over what you own, but you lose the thrill of ripping altogether. What if you didn't have to choose?

Vickrey Auctions

Every card pulled is made available to the team via Vickrey Auction in ETC's Auction House. You simply make a sealed bid for what the card is worth to you, and if you win, only pay the price of the second-highest bid.

ETC Vault

Every card won in auction is automatically placed in a team member's Vault. It is stored in the same condition in which it was pulled until the team member chooses to ship the content of their Vault. Additionally, all bids are backed by funds deposited into a team member's Wallet, also accessed via their Vault.

Teamwork

Team Bank

A majority of every team member's monthly dues are deposited into the Team Bank. Additionally, 90% of all Auction House revenue is deposited right back into the Team Bank. More members → better breaks → more members…a self-sustaining cycle of ever-increasing purchasing power.

Borda Count Polling

Using Borda count polling (which is scientifically demonstrated to establish consensus), ETC makes sure every break purchased with Team Bank funds is guided by the team itself.

Dedication

Next Man Up

An automatic system that tracks when any membership lapses and then elevates every lower-seniority member's Dedication Level by one. If a member's Next Man Up elevation raises them into a higher Dedication Tier, they're credited money for the current membership dues on their next renewal (which will itself be of higher value).

Elevation Day

Elevation Day is simultaneously the team's ultimate pursuit and its ultimate reward. Each time the team grows to unlock the next Dedication Tier, they're rewarded with a founder-funded Dynasty break of increasing value. After the last Dedication Tier is unlocked, the 4th day of every month thereafter will become known as “Elevation Day” and celebrated with a founder-funded Dynasty break of $10k+ in total spend.

Vote on What Gets Ripped

In order to establish a meaningful consensus, team members make their voice heard through ETC's Borda Count Polling. Members will rank their preferences on break type, sport, and frequency on a monthly basis.

Polling results guide what breaks are purchased with Team Bank funds. Every break is livestreamed from beginning to end, and every card pulled is made available exclusively to team members on ETC's Auction House.

Bid on What You Actually Want

Using our Vickrey Auctions, members make sealed bids only on the cards they want, and every bid is backed by funds already deposited in their Wallet. If they win an auction, they only pay the price of the second-highest bid.

Ship on Your Cadence

Every card won is automatically added to a team member's Vault. Members are free to ship the contents of their Vault immediately, or wait to bundle multiple cards at a time.

What exactly is ETC?
ETC is a membership-based trading card platform built around one team. Members pool their buying power to open premium product together, help guide which breaks the team pursues through ranked-choice polling, and bid on the individual cards they want through sealed auctions. It's not a traditional breaker — it's a platform built around shared purchasing power and transparent operations.
Is this like a normal break?
Not really. In a traditional break, you typically pay for a random team or player slot and hope for the best. At ETC, every card pulled goes up for auction exclusively to team members. You bid on the cards you actually want. You bid your true value — and you never pay more than the second-highest bid.
Why not just buy singles?
Buying singles is the rational move in today's market — we agree. But you shouldn't have to choose. ETC was built specifically so you don't have to make that trade-off. By pooling resources as a team, we can rip premium product that would be irrational to buy alone, and the auction system means you still only pay fair market value for the cards you want.
How do the auctions work?
ETC uses Vickrey auctions — a sealed-bid, second-price format. You submit a private bid for any card you want. The highest bidder wins, but pays the second-highest bid amount. This format is scientifically demonstrated to incentivize bidding your true value, because there's no advantage to underbidding or overbidding.
What does my membership pay for?
Between 50–80% of your monthly dues flow directly into the Team Bank, which is used to purchase breaks for the team. The remainder covers platform operations. Spending is documented and published for full transparency.
How does the team influence which boxes get opened?
Every member has a voice. The team ranks their preferences through Borda count polling — a consensus-building system where every vote shapes the direction. Poll results guide break selection, giving the operator a clear signal of what the team wants while preserving the flexibility to navigate real-world constraints like product availability and timing.
What does Early Access give me?
Early Access members receive their membership purchase invite before the general public, with invites staggered four minutes apart based on sign-up timestamp. You also get a one-time 10% discount on your membership. First come, first served.
How does signing up early affect my Dedication Level?
Your Dedication Level is determined by your member number — the earlier you join, the higher your level. The first 40 members lock in Visionary pricing, which offers the lowest rates and the highest Team Bank contribution percentage (80%). As tiers fill, new members join at progressively higher price points. Signing up for Early Access secures your place in line, which directly determines how early you can purchase a membership and, in turn, which Dedication Tier you land in.
When does ETC launch?
ETC launches publicly on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Early Access members receive their membership purchase invites 24 hours before Launch Day, in timestamp order.
